11-11-11

Happy Binary Day!  A Binary Day is a date that only consists in binary numbers, 0′s and 1′s.  11-11-11 is the last Binary Date in almost a century, the next one is not until January 1, 2100.

To celebrate Binary Day, here is a Howtoon, Bit By Bit that teaches you how to count in binary using your hands.  01000101 01101110 01101010 01101111 01111001!

Bubble Trouble

Everyone loves bubbles, so here is our best Howtoon’s solution for a little Bubble Trouble!  Bubbles are formed when gas becomes trapped inside a liquid.  The gas is less dense than the air, it will rise into the atmosphere.  When making the bubble solution, use warm water.  Also, try letting it sit for 24+ hours before using it.  This will allow the ingredients to fully dissolve and help to achieve bigger and stronger bubbles.

Humidity helps when creating bigger bubbles, the best conditions are 60% humidity and higher.  So what better place for giant bubbles than San Francisco.  Check out these amazing bubbles by Sterling Johnson on Stinson Beach.

Mobius

Check out this amazing collaborative stop animation motion sculpture MÖBIUS, by Ennes.  The sculpture was created by animating 21 large triangles in Federation Square in Melbourne.

“MÖBIUS is a sculpture that can be configured into many cyclical patterns and behave as though it is eating itself, whilst sinking into the ground. The result is an optical illusion and a time-lapse of people interacting with the sculpture and moving through Melbourne’s landmark location throughout the day.”
